As
a Physics PhD, I was originally a researcher, evaluating nuclear data.
After a five-year carer break as the primary caregiver for my five
children, I was having difficulty returning to research work. Thanks to a
three-year Daphne Jackson Fellowship, I was able to research and
retrain in Medical Physics, and now enjoy a related but new career.
Daphne Jackson is a UK program that returns professionals in Science,
Engineering, Mathematics, and Technology to their careers after at least
a 2 year break, through flexible, part-time, paid fellowships that
