American Corporate Partners (ACP) is a national nonprofit organization focused on helping returning veterans and active duty spouses find their next careers through one-on-one mentoring, networking and online career advice. More than 1 million veterans are expected to transition from the armed forces to civilian life over the next five years. ACP engages the American people in a unique volunteer opportunity to provide career guidance to returning military as they transition back into civilian life. We believe that the biggest issue facing our returning service members is not unemployment – it’s underemployment. ACP focuses on helping veterans and active duty spouses find meaningful employment opportunities and develop long-term careers.

United States Department of Labor Military Spouse Interstate License Recognition Options

Generally speaking, licenses are state-specific. Some states offer “license reciprocity”. License reciprocity means that, if you already hold an active license in one U.S. state, you can apply for a license in your new state without taking all the state-required pre-licensing courses. These reciprocal agreements vary widely from state to state. It is the policy of the U.S. Department of Labor to reduce employment barriers and enhance career opportunities for military spouses.

USO Spouse Career Resources and Networking Events

Through the creation of an individualized action plan, USO Transition Specialists collaborate with individuals to identify their personal and professional goals and build a roadmap to achieving them, while also identifying services and resources that are the best fit for their needs. This program offers support to service members up to 6 months after they have officially left service, providing them with resources well along their journey to civilian life. USO Transition Specialists provide these free services through one-on-one support (either virtually, or in person) and help military families create a plan for success now – and for the future.
