Fireside Chat: Managing a Successful Returnship Program Through an Evolving Hiring Environment and a Return to Office Mandate:

A fireside chat with Sarah Scaturro, DE&I Talent Program Leader, Wells Fargo Glide – Relaunch Program

Wells Fargo’s Glide – Relaunch Program‘s ambitious launch during the pandemic in 2020 involved 12 business areas and included 34 returners in the first cohort. It ramped up quickly over the next three years, and there are now over 240 Glide Relaunch alumni inside the organization.

As the Glide – Relaunch team continues to evolve and refine the program, they are now doing so in an increasingly cautious hiring environment and in the midst of a return to office initiative involving many roles that used to be 100% remote.

We speak with program leader, Sarah Scaturro, about what 2024 will look like for Glide – Relaunch: both the challenges and the opportunities.

Note: This session will be set up to enable group discussion and we would like to hear from employer representatives about how their organizations are managing similar situations.

Fireside Chat: Two Years In – Talking program details with Return Utah's Leader

Audience Note: This session is NOT Returnships 101! For those who would like that refresher, please reference the HBR article "Return to Work Programs Come of Age" before attending the Summit . This session is more like the Senior Seminar on Returnships. Both private and public sector employers will benefit from this detailed conversation with Shay Baker, relauncher and leader of the first state returnship program, Return Utah.

Here's the level of detail we are going to get into: classification of relaunchers; categories of part time, full time, benefitted, not benefitted, when is day one for benefits, how do probation periods figure in when someone has already done a returnship, different kinds of returnship categories, conversion rates, retention discussion and getting more agency heads involved in the program. Be prepared to dive into the nitty gritty details in the wonkiest way in this session. Session attendees who are running programs - please bring your examples and experiences to the discussion.

Fireside Chat: Diversifying the relauncher talent pool

Join us for a conversation with iRelaunch Diversity Lead, Janet Peterson, with commentary from Darla Pires DeGrace, Global Head of Diversity Talent Acquisition, Morgan Stanley. You'll hear how Darla came to iRelaunch with a concern - and a challenge - to diversify the iRelaunch community.

In this session, Janet will discuss events iRelaunch has produced, events she has attended at partner organizations, customized outreach campaign partnerships, and other examples that have been effective in increasing diversity in the iRelaunch community, and what employers can do to reach this talent pool. iRelaunch CEO and Co-founder Carol Fishman Cohen will moderate.

This Summit was amazing! Carol provided invaluable information and did a wonderful job of moderating. The speakers were incredible and provided great insight into their respective programs. Thank you for all of the resources. I am looking forward to sharing all of this information with my team and applying the best practices learned to redesign a best-in-class Returning Professionals Program. Thank you so much! I thoroughly enjoyed this Summit and learned so much!

Who Should Attend?

Employer representatives who:

  • run career reentry programs and want to learn about innovations and problem solving at employer career reentry programs that have produced the best results
  • have piloted career reentry programs, are now expanding them, and want to understand how successful expansions have rolled out
  • want to recruit relaunchers but not necessarily through a formal career reentry program and are interested in learning more about this talent pool
  • employer representatives who are thinking about starting a career reentry program and want to learn the benefits of hiring this talent pool

The Summit was an excellent forum to learn more about iRelaunch, employer partners, and the state of re-entry programs. I highly recommend employer partners and employers thinking about starting a re-entry program to participate in the future!

I absolutely LOVED the openness of communication at every session. Also the fact that you had sessions for companies starting from zero vs companies that are more established was great for ensuring the most relevant information sharing for everyone.
