After having my first child, I became a single parent and worked as a meat buyer for a grocery retail chain. When I re-married seven years later, I stayed home with my second child. After two years at home, I decided to return to work. My first job back was as a soccer referee for my kids' league - first female ref! Then I became a rep for Mary Kay Cosmetics. When we were transferred to Bentonville, AR, I continued with Mary Kay, and also joined the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce. I got involved right away as a volunteer and was the top producer for their annual fundraiser. The president of the Chamber noticed, and hired me as the Director of Marketing for the Chamber. I was promoted to V.P., Marketing and Membership a year later. I’ve been with the Chamber five years now.
