When my relationship with my daughter's father ended after eight
years, I found myself forced to return to full-time work. In the midst of
my initial emotional and financial struggles, I focused on rebuilding as
flexible of a career as possible. As a result, I launched a consulting
business, assisting small firms and non-profits with their research,
interviewing and writing needs. I work from home and am able to
make my own hours so that I can be as available as possible to my
daughter in my new role as a single mom.
