Relaunch Success Stories
When I was on maternity leave with my first child, my large corporate law firm, Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, was suffering in the throes of the worldwide economic downturn. The firm eventually collapsed under these pressures, and as it turned out, the timing coincided with my desire to spend time at home raising my child. Still at home after having a second child, I was concerned I had taken too much time off to ever return to the practice of law. Once my children started school, however, I felt the urge to practice law again.
After over seven years away, it was a challenge at first to sharpen my skills and adjust to a changed legal market. Following a short period in my own practice, I was introduced to Montage Legal Group through a former co-worker and subsequently joined. I thought an affiliation with other well-educated, like-minded female attorneys with similar backgrounds and experience would help me forge a path in the current legal market and yet keep in check the work/life balance I so desired.
