After a 20 year career at technology and management consulting firm Arthur D. Little (ADL), I took a 12 year career break to stay home with my four children. During that break, I earned a Master's of Science in Finance to augment my Mechanical Engineering degree from MIT. I taught finance courses part-time at Boston College and Boston University as Adjunct Faculty, and then spent the next six years focusing exclusively on life at home and family responsibilities.

In 2006, two of my ADL colleagues, recruited me for a specific project at IHS Global Insight. Following that assignment, I took a position as Director of Research at Business Innovation Consulting (BIC) a Strategy and Innovation Consulting Firm. As it turned out, BIC's Managing Partner Ralph Colello, prior to launching Business Innovation Consulting, LLC, was a Vice President & Managing Director of Arthur D. Little's Management Consulting Practice and a colleague of mine at the Arthur D. Little. We stayed in touch. Ralph founded BIC in 2005, and when the company expanded and was hiring a Director of Research, I was ready to jump back in. BIC's structures, schedules, and flexibility make it a great place for returning moms.
